Murmurlings

Hatched from ideas whispered in the dark, the ones you almost forgot.

Their job

Murmurlings catch your sparks: a line in the shower, a voice memo on a walk, a picture that feels like your story. They don't grab an idea. They hold their lantern very still and let it drift toward the light, then fold it small as a seed and keep it warm until you're ready.

What they love

• The violet hour just after sunset, when half-thoughts come out
• Voice memos, especially ones mumbled half asleep
• Words written on the backs of receipts
• Being asked, "Do you remember that idea I had?"

What they can't stand

"I'll remember it later." (Nobody ever does. That's why the Murmurlings exist.)

A secret

A Murmurling's lantern never needs oil. It burns on every idea it has ever caught.
