Drowslings keep your story safe while it rests. Every page you've ever written, every old draft, every version you thought you'd thrown away: a Drowsling has tucked it in somewhere warm. And when you sit down to write, their hush drifts out and the world goes quiet for a while.

What they love

• A story that's resting, not gone
• Quilts with too many patches
• The quiet after the last word of the night
• Being woken up gently, by someone coming back

What they can't stand

The word "delete." (In the Hush, nothing is ever really thrown away.)
